Village Water Department Begins Low-Flow Flush
Water Department personnel began a low-flow hydrant flush of the distribution system this morning at 8:00. The process involves one inch fittings attached to ten hydrants at a time, each flowing at approximately 5 gallons per minute, moving them incrementally through the entire system to clear any discoloration. This should be less disruptive to the areas not currently affected, while clearing those that are. It is expected to take up to a week to complete this task. Residents should also know that recent sample analysis has shown no pathogenic bacteria present in the water during this period of discoloration.
