The Village Wastewater Department will be conducting a project to clean and inspect sections of its sanitary sewer collection mains beginning Monday, April 15th @ 8:00 a.m. The project involves two vehicles, one which cleans the mains, and the other which controls the camera that crawls through the mains to look at the condition of the 100+ year old lines. Residents should be aware that there will be areas where no parking will be allowed, so that traffic can be re-routed for the safety of personnel involved. The pattern will shift daily as work progresses. Updates will be provided each evening via the Village website: coldspringny.gov, and on their facebook page.

Homeowner’s should also be aware that, although the trucks will be using only enough pressure to clean the interior walls of the pipes, there is the potential that an amount of back-pressure will bubble up in the traps of household plumbing. Toilets should be flushed, and lids down in the homes of the properties involved in that days’ work.

The purpose of the project is to assess the condition of the mains and investigate areas that are susceptible to inflow and infiltration (I&I) of storm and ground waters into the sanitary sewer collection system. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the community for the duration of the project.
