Q: What date does the Main Street meters start?
A: Meters on Main Street are in effect as of Friday, April 5, 2024
 
Q: What days and hours are Main St. parking meters in effect? 
A: Meters are in effect on Main Street (between Depot Square and Rt. 9D) Friday - Sunday and holidays landing on Mondays, from 10 AM to 6 PM.
 
Q: Does Main Street have free parking days?
A: Yes, (non-holiday) Mondays – Thursdays meters are free and resident side streets are open to anyone to park on as well.
 
Q: How much do Main Street meters cost and how long can I park there?
A: $4/hour, for up to three hours.
 
Q: How do I pay for Main Street meters?
A: You can pay with a credit card via the ParkMobile App, by phone, or at one of the meter kiosks located in front of Village Hall (85 Main Street, across from Fair St) and at the northeast corner of Main St at the intersection of Church St.
 
Q: What if I am in a hurry or just need to stop and pick up something fast on a weekend?
A: There are free 15-minute parking spots on the north side of Main St at the west end of each block. They will be enforced to encourage quick and regular turnover and to ensure they are generally available for fast pick-ups and drop offs. Anyone may use these spots.
 
Q: What if I want to stay longer than three hours?
A: Metered long term parking is available 24/7 at the Municipal Lot on Fair St at a reduced rate. Additionally, Metro-North Railroad provides free parking on weekends and holidays, with no time limits. There is also free-parking available on Northern Ave and Haldane St.
 
Q: Where can Main St. business owners and employees park? 
A: Shopkeepers will be able to park on residential side streets and Main St on (non-holiday) Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please note, any of those areas may have time limits (such as the 3 HR time limit from 10am-6pm on Main). Additional, free parking, with fewer time restrictions, can be found on Northern Ave, Haldane St, and at the Winter Parking areas near the corner of Kemble Ave and The Boulevard. Business owners and employees can also park for free at Metro-North Parking Lot on weekends and holidays.
 
Q:  I have a Residential Parking Permit, do I still have to pay if I park on Main Street?
A:  Yes.  The Residential Parking Permit only applies to those streets in the Residential Parking District of which Main Street is not included.
