Additional Homeowner Assistance

Yesterday, Governor Hochul and the State Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Services announced that an additional $3M has been made available to eligible homeowners who incurred storm damage in the July 9/10 flooding events. Grants of up to $50,000 will be available for eligible homeowners – those that: incurred damage in the primary residence; meet the grant’s income guidelines (incomes at or below 80% of the area median income); and have damage recovery costs that are not covered by any other federal, state, or local program fund or third party insurer. The electronic portal to apply for the funds will open on Friday, August 11. More information and links available here: https://hcr.ny.gov/ahc-flood-assistance-program

An individual assistance program through FEMA has not yet been committed, but our representatives at the County, State, and Federal level continue to advocate on behalf of Putnam homeowners. Thank you for the assistance and guidance Cold Spring is receiving from the Putnam Bureau of Emergency Services, the County Executive and his team, Legislator Nancy Montgomery, NYS Assemblymember Dana Levenberg, NYS Senator Rob Rolison and Congressmember Mike Lawler.
