Cold Spring participates in NYSERDA Electric Vehicle and Clean Heating/Cooling Community Campaigns

The Village of Cold Spring announces its participation in the NYSERDA Electric Vehicles Community Campaign and continued participation in the NYSERDA Clean Heating and Cooling Campaign. As a New York Clean Energy Community, Cold Spring is working to increase local clean energy opportunities, improve energy efficiency, and lower our collective climate emissions. The Village is working in partnership with the Philipstown Climate Smart Task Force to complete these campaigns.

NYSERDA’s Clean Energy Communities Program recognizes and rewards local governments for their clean energy actions. Through this program, the Village can earn up to $15,000 toward municipal clean energy upgrades with your help!
  • The Village will receive a $5,000 grant once we report five Village residents who purchase an Electric Vehicle (after August 4, 2023).
  • The Village will receive a $10,000 once ten Village residents install a heat pump or heat pump hot water heater (after June 1, 2023).

To notify about your recent purchase, please email Trustee Laura Bozzi (trustee.bozzi@coldspringny.gov) with the installation or purchase date, the model, and the installer or dealership name.

According to NYSERDA, driving an EV means fewer maintenance costs than gas-powered vehicles and benefits from insurance discounts while significantly reducing your carbon footprint. Switching to an EV has never been more affordable: New Yorkers can save up to $9,500 on an EV purchase or lease through New York’s Drive Clean rebate and the Federal IRA tax credit. Learn more about electric vehicles and the NYSERDA Drive Clean Rebate program.
