SCAM ALERT

A number of residents have reported receiving a mailing from "Citizens Behind the Badge" of Merrifield, VA. The organization purports to benefit "Cold Spring Area police and officers nationwide." The Officer-in-Charge of the Cold Spring Police Department confirms that this is a scam, and residents should not send money to the organization. Neither the Cold Spring Police Department nor its PBA benefit from or have any affiliation with "Citizens Behind the Badge."
