Update on Water Discoloration - Friday Jan. 10th

After discussing today's (1/10/20) unexpected discoloration event with the Putnam Co. Health Department, it is believed that an iron deposit from somewhere in the systems' cast iron main's had let loose from the interior wall of the piping, spreading discolored water throughout the distribution system. Residents were and have been advised to run the cold water at the first tap of their internal plumbing or through a bathtub fixture until the water returns to normal.
